Freakin' insane last night, guys! I live in Houston, which is a huge city if you didn't know (fourth largest in the nation and largest in Texas). It was sold out and absolutely packed, and according to the guys tweets, they had to send 1,000 people home. Luckily, I had "hard tickets" as opposed to those "will call" ones. So if you haven't gone yet, and you live in a big city, buy hard tickets (I got mine at Fiesta, but I think you can get them at Macy's also. Check the Ticketmaster website. Trust me, you won't regret it.) I was in a long line, even though I got there an hour and a half early, and I thought I was going to be all the way in the back, but I managed to get second row because I had a hard ticket.
Anyways, absolute chaos. There was pushing, and shoving. And I almost fell once. The guys at the barriers were such douche bags though... I liked the other bands' sets, but I was just there for Breathe Carolina. Being in a hot room full of bodies tightly packed together (and it's worse in the front) made me sweat like crazy. My shirt was absolutely drenched in sweat by the time BC's set was over. I bought a shirt afterwards and changed 'cause I couldn't take it anymore. My make up came off (except mascara. Wear waterproof, ladies!!!), my hair was a tangled mess (I'm wearing a ponytail next time...), and I felt I was going to passout (I had a water bottle with me. Have one with you just in case, 'cause you can't always count on the people there to share) so I kind of wanted to leave, but I think it was during the Asking Alexandria set that I saw Kyle, and then David, chilling out by the side of the stage that I was like, "I did not wait in line and go through this madness for nothing!" so you can imagine how delighted I was when they came out for their set at about ten.
They began the show with "I'm The Type of Person to Take Things Personal," followed by "The Birds and The Bees,” “Welcome to Savannah,” “Lovely,” “Hello Fascination,” and of course, ended with “IDGAF.” It was pretty short in my opinion, but any opportunity to see them was good enough for me. I sang my heart out, of course, and got to hold Kyle’s hand at the end of “The Birds and The Bees” (I swear that’s our song, LOL. Same thing happened at Warped Tour. I shoulda bought my hat…)
The only thing I was really bummed about was not being to see the guys afterwards. I looked around and waited by the merch area, but I couldn’t find them. I even wrote them a letter (something I always do when I go see them) and I wanted to give it to them myself, but I couldn’t find them. So I gave it to Tasty (merch guy) to give to them and then I left. My feet were so sore that I was walking like a drunk, jajaja. They said on Twitter that they might be back on Tuesday to make it up to the 1,000 people that went home, and hopefully (though I kinda of doubt) I can go.
Well, yeah, that was my Artery tour experience. And I hope y’all’s experience is even better than mine (that you can actually find the guys)! Have fun, and watch out for crowd surfers!
